No, GoodSync2Go v12 requires a separate Goodsync2Go v11 license - perpetual license that costs $299.00, non-refundable, no discounts.Me: Then why doesn't my previous GoodSync2Go license carry over? I was an early adopter, now you discontinued my version and are charging $299 for what I already purchasedSupport: GoodSync v9 is discontinued long time ago and not supported anymore. Your site said the 2Go version was over $200!Support: Thank you for your message. Me: Does the basic GoodSync subscription include GoodSync2Go? That's the part that I really need. We have moved to an annual subscription-based model. GoodSync is no longer offering perpetual licenses. GoodSync v9 is no longer available for download. GoodSync v9 is discontinued long time ago and not supported anymore. Can you please direct me on where to find it?Support: Hello, Thank you for being a loyal customer and for contacting GoodSync Support. Me: I have a license for GoodSync2Go V9, but can't find the download file on your website. This company clearly doesn't understand what a "perpetual license" is. It does the job it advertises, but support isn't great. I'm pretty sure they don't understand the concept of "perpetual license". They stopped supporting it, took the older version off their website and want me to purchase a new "perpetual license" for $300. People who have used tools compare and merging tools will not have any issue. This is not really a bad thing as once understood or after using it for a while it be very easy to use. The way the data represented (conflicts, copy left to right and vice versa) and also the action that needs to be taken presented in a better way. It took some time to realize how exactly it works so first time users can find it a bit difficult. User Interface for synchronization can be improved. It is really fast and makes the easily done. I have 9 hard disks and i back up and sync between all of them using GoodSync. (the price is slight higher) -Ability to save sync or back jobs is very convenient and being able to group is quite nice. Synchronizing tool is very powerful and accurate -There is built support to sync with many cloud storage accounts (google drive, onedrive, box etc) -Portable version of the software is handy as it can be used in many computers. No need to have different tools for different jobs. Saves a lot of time and make the whole process easy. It takes care of comparing and we just have to choose what actions needs to be taken. Having a software like GoodSync, we don't really have do any manual tracking. In some cased it can be easily overlooked. We also need to keep track manually of the changed files and update. It's also fairly expensive if you have more than 5TB going to the cloud (there is a free 1TB local version). When we have too much data it is really easy to forget back up or sync. But it has no CRC checks and no client/server. I like goodsync as it has some really solid tools for client/server (for serious performance improvements) and CRC checks I find that Cloudberry backup is a much better tool in terms of usability, you can restore to a point in time quite easily. You have to dive down into the folder structure and find them where they have date stamps added. I like goodsync, but one area where it is poor is in how inconvenient it is to get these historical files back. Go through all the options and read about what each one means. If you just sync and not maintain a history the answer is that it is gone as soon as you run the next backup. This says if I delete an image in my master, for 400 days I can get it back from the backup. in particular on general tab there are settings for how long it maintains history of deleted/replaced files. Next, go through all the options so you understand them. Once it's working you can have it do the analyze & sync together, but it is useful at first to make sure it is doing what you expect. It will first do an analyze to see what needs to move - look at that first, then do the synchronize. What you want is to backup from your normal image storage area(s) on the left to the backup drive on the right. It's possible your metadata issue relates to that. Never use synchronize for anything related to backup. Goodsync operates in two modes: Synchronization and Backup. My recommendation is to get back to that point (specifically get your images back to that point first, then clear the backup drive). The right way to do this is to start with your backup drive empty, and your images in their normal place. Let's assume for the moment you are not limited by that. Goodsync is a good program, though the free version is limited to 100 files, so it is not actually usable for something like photography.
